David Finn is Professor and Head of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Founding Co-Director of the Centre for Pain Research at the National University of Ireland Galway. His research focuses on the affective and cognitive dimensions of pain, amd stress-pain interactions, with an emphasis on the endogenous cannabinoid and opioid systems. Professor Finn is President of the International Cannabinoid Research Society and Past President of the Irish Pain Society. He has been a member of the Presidential Task Forces for Cannabis, Cannabinoids and Chronic Pain of both IASP and EFIC, EFIC Council, EFIC Working Group for Translational Pain Research, EFIC Research Strategy working group, and the Scientific Programme Committee for the EFIC 2022 Congress. Professor Finn is a member of the Editorial Boards of multiple journals including Pain, Frontiers in Pain Research, and the Scandinavian Journal of Pain. He has published over 175 peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters.
