Prof. Fusao Kato

Graduated from The University of Tokyo in 1982 and received Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo in 1989 and Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from Jikei University Medical School in 1997. Research associate in Department of Pharmacology, Jikei University School of Medicine in 1984. Foreign Researcher in l’Institut Alfred Fessard, CNRS, France (1993-1995), Professeur associé in l’Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France (1995-1996; 1998), and Invited Researcher at University of Sheffield, UK (2001). Full Professor of Jikei University of School of Medicine since 2005.

Currently the Director of the Department of Neuroscience and the Chairman of the Center for Neuroscience of Pain at the Jikei University. Member of the Science Council of Japan. Ex-Vice President of the Physiological Society of Japan and the Deputy Editor of Molecular Pain. Board Member of the Japanese Association for Study of Pain and Japan Society of Neurovegetative Research.
