Prof. Julia Glombiewski
Julia Anna Glombiewski, PhD, is full professor at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany). Her main research interests are mechanisms and effectiveness of psychological treatments for chronic pain. She was the principal investigator and supervisor of several RCTs on behavioral treatments for chronic pain and a replicated single case experimental design study on exposure based behavioral pain treatment. Currently, she is the PI of an RCT including 400 participants suffering from chronic pain and comparing exposure treatment to CBT. Her main goal is to further improve or develop economic and successive interventions for chronic pain that are specifically tailored to patients´ needs. Her work also includes studies on placebo and nocebo effects and responses, the role of expectations in psychological treatments of e.g. depression and on anger in pain. She has published over 100 journal articles and received several grants from the German Research Foundation.
