Professor Harbinder Sandhu
Harbinder is Professor of Health Psychology at Warwick Clinical Trials Unit, University of Warwick, and a Practitioner Health Psychologist. She combines her clinical and academic work to help people engage in positive behaviour change and improve quality of life through self-management of long-term health conditions. Her academic work involves designing and testing the effectiveness of complex behaviour change interventions for implementation in health services, and policy and guidance development in a range of health conditions. She is chief investigator and co-applicant on clinical trials funded by the National Institute of Health Research. She is currently leading the first UK trial on opioid tapering and chronic pain management. Other areas of her work in behaviour change include COVID rehabilitation, pulmonary hypertension, Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), chronic headaches and rare diseases.
