Preventing and Treating Pain & Anxiety Caused by Needles: Implementing Lasting System-Wide Change

This presentation will focus on systems strengthening at the service level, using the example of an implementation program developed to improve procedure pain management and adopted in five children’s hospitals. The impact of the “Children’s Comfort Promise” initiative on driving reform in ‘right’ procedure pain care through use of audits (e.g., wait times for services, patient satisfaction, pain, clinical outcomes) will be described.
