Risk Factors and Clinical Predictors of Chronic Pain After Surgery and Acute Injury

Simon Haroutounian will introduce and discuss postulated mechanisms for the transition to chronic pain after acute trauma and surgery. This will be followed by a comprehensive review of studies evaluating the evidence for various risk factors for the development of chronic pain after surgery. Based on this evidence, consideration will be given to possible intervention strategies to prevent transition to chronic pain.
