Christin Veasley
BSc
For 30 years, Christin has been a fervent advocate at the US ffederal level to bring about long-overdue awareness of chronic pain’s impact, the urgent need for an increased research investment to address this crisis and the long-overlooked value of partnering with patients and other stakeholders in planning and conducting research. Her childhood health experiences led her to obtain a science degree, time conducting neuroscience research at Johns Hopkins, and to the pain research advocacy community. Since, she’s served in advisory positions for numerous initiatives within US federal agencies; academic research studies; and collaborative alliances and public-private partnerships. In 2009, she co-founded the Chronic Pain Research Alliance – the only advocacy initiative focused on advancing a strategic research, knowledge translation and biopharmaceutical industry effort on chronic overlapping pain conditions. She’s authored numerous journal articles, op-eds, chapters, CMEs, patient resources; presented at dozens of meetings; and extensiviely interviewed in the media.
