Dr. Jimmy Barus currently serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Department of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, located in Jakarta. He has been a member of IASP since 2008 and an alumnus of Pain Management Camp organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Pain Societies (ASEAPS) in Singapore 2011. He was introduced to the multidisciplinary pain service and pain self-management while having a short-term clinical attachment in Selayang Hospital, observing the Menang program performed by Dr. Mary Cardosa, Prof Zubaidah Osman, and the team. Since then he has been actively involved in introducing the concept to clinicians in Indonesia and was one of Indonesia’s representatives and a member of the advisory board on the Multidisciplinary Pain Center Toolkit project. He was a faculty member/trainer of Indonesia and Vietnam Virtual Training on MPC toolkit project and pain self-management program in 2021.
