Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center
Dr. Joanne Kacperski
Since joining the faculty at Cincinnati Children’s Dr. Kacperski has had the profound joy of treating children and adolescents with primary and secondary headache disorders in the clinical setting and is actively involved in several ongoing research trials. She sees patients in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting and is involved in developing multiple clinical research projects and independent projects. Her primary interest has centered around the interrelationship between post-traumatic headaches and migraine in the children. Because headache is reported to be the most common symptom after mild traumatic brain injury, efforts to decrease associated morbidities could improve patients’ quality of life and dramatically reduce the public health burden by facilitating quicker return to daily activities and school. While often medically complex and disabled by their chronic pain, Dr. Kacperki welocmes the opportunity of treating such challenging patients in effort of improving not only their pain, but their overall quality of life.
