Dr. Katelynn Boerner

PhD

Dr Boerner is a clinical psychologist working with children and families in chronic pain at BC Children’s Hospital, with an academic position as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia. She has worked with multiple teams in Canada, the US, and the UK, and has significant clinical experience in the design and delivery of complex treatments. As a clinician-scientist she understands the complexities of clinical practice and how skills are hard-won and difficult to protect. But as an early career scientist she can see that the world is changing, that the need for psychological services outstrips the demand, and that technology has become part of everyday life. She will be working to make sure that the two protagonists present the best arguments possible, that they are not hiding key details and facts, and that their positions are fully stress tested by the expert audience.
