Leone English is the Executive Director of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. She has over 30 years’ experience within health and health professional education. Leone’s clinical background includes spinal injuries nursing, emergency, and cancer care. As a nurse academic she focused on acute and emergency care at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has held senior academic positions including Dean of Health Science and Executive Director for Education and Research and led transformational change in education.
With a passion for simulation-based education Leone founded the Victorian Simulation Alliance and is the immediate past president.
She has contributed to educational policy and strategy at a state and national and was on the Board of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council for several years. She has a deep commitment to quality health professional education and its ability to transform practice and improve community health outcomes.
