Professor Nurcan Üçeyler

Prof. Nurcan Üçeyler is a Neurologist and Pain Specialist. She is holding a Heisenberg-Professorship on “Translational Somatosensorics” at the Department of Neurology, University of Würzburg, Germany. Prof. Üçeyler is a clinician scientist combining clinical work with basic sciences. Together with her interprofessional team, she focuses on the pathophysiology of neuropathic pain and neuropathies. Using clinical studies, animal models, and fully human and patient-derived cell culture models she tries to decipher underlying mechanisms to transfer in clinical practice.
