Professor Rohini Kuner

PhD

The speaker has a long record of research on mechanisms underlying plasticity in neural pathways of pain, both in molecular neurobiological and circuit contexts. She has developed significant insights on oscillatory activity and connectivity in brain circuits in mouse models of pain as well as the intricacies of cortical processing of sensory information. She has gained expertise on cutting-edge imaging methodologies that are at the frontier in neurosciences and couples them with in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetic/chemogenetic interventions and behavioral phenotyping in mouse models to derive causal contributions of circuit dysfunction to chronic pain.
